The chief justice, while hearing the Tayyaba torture case on Wednesday, remarked that the court would like to hear the case in detail and then determine if criminal charges can be brought against the accused husband and wife.
The remarks were made after the challan was submitted in court by DIG Islamabad.
The chief justice also said during the hearing that it has yet to be determined if the case can be treated through existing laws or whether extraordinary measures will be taken as one of the accused is a judicial officer himself.
It is important that laws are created for children that work as household help, he remarked.

Asma Jahangir, representing various NGOs, said that every second house employs children as domestic help and measures should be taken that underage domestic help does not go through the same experience as Tayyaba.
She added that like in previous cases this time too no investigation was conducted regarding the individuals who provide children to be used as house help.
These children are handed in as slaves and no one is conducting investigations about the matter, she argued.
She further argued that the culprits should be brought to justice.
According to Asma Jahangir the enforcement of a number of steps that should be taken for the prevention of such acts is the responsibility of the parliament and not of the court.
In the previous hearing of the case the DIG had presented the investigative report of the case in front of the three-member bench headed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan Miyan Saqib Nisar.
At the time the DIG had asked for an additional week for further investigation in the case, at the time he had said his department was waiting for the results of the DNA test.
The next hearing for the case will be held in two weeks’ time.

RAWALPINDI: Pakistan on Tuesday conducted its first successful flight test of surface-to-surface ballistic missile ‘Ababeel’, Inter Services Public Relations said here.
The statement issued by the ISPR, media wing of the military, said the missile has a maximum range of 2200 kilometers and is capable of carrying multiple warheads, using Multiple Independent Re-entry (MIRV) technology.
The test flight was aimed at validating various design and technical parameters of the weapon system.
Ababeel is capable of carrying nuclear warheads and has the capability to engage multiple targets with high precision defeating the enemy’s hostile radars.

German newspaper Süddeutsche Zeitung on Monday tweeted documents to 'help' Pakistanis form their own opinion on the role of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's daughter in Panamagate.

“For those in Pakistan who doubt the role of the prime minister’s daughter Mariam Safdar in Panama Papers – some of the documents. Judge yourself,” Süddeutsche Zeitung tweeted, along with attachments purporting to show her involvement with Minerva Financial Services. Maryam Safdar is her legal name after marriage.

The "source of wealth" section on the form says "Family's wealth and businesses which spreads [sic] over 60 years."
A copy of the premier's daughter's old passport also accompanied the tweet.
Süddeutsche Zeitung was the first news outlet to receive the 11.5 million secret files from Panamagate, which included the names of Pakistanis with offshore holdings.
During Panamagate hearings at the Supreme Court, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) has been trying to establish that Maryam Nawaz, and not her brother Hussain Nawaz as claimed by the party earlier, was the beneficial owner of Minerva Financial Services.
Minerva is the holding company for Nescoll Limited and Nielson Enterprises Limited, two off-shore enterprises at the centre of the scandal engulfing the prime minister's family.

You can ban an artist but you cannot stop music from connecting people: Rahat Fateh

"Art should always unite, never become the reason to divide," he says.

Fawad and Mahira Khan aren't the only Pakistani stars who have been affected by the ban on Pakistani artists in India. However, the ban hasn't perturbed Rahat much.
In an exclusive interview with HuffPo India, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan explains that the ban will not influence the arts.
"Art should always unite, never become the reason to divide," he says. "Yes, you can impose a ban on an artist and stop him from coming to your country, but you'll never be able to suppress the voice of an artist."
"If he or she is a true artist who emotes from his heart, his voice will travel far and wide, no matter the circumstances. You cannot stop music from traveling and connecting people. It carries an eternal truth with it."
In fact, Rahat hopes to record more songs for Bollywood this year. "Yes, I am. I want to. Insh Allah if all goes well, I will be singing a few of them."
The singer has been approached numerous times by B-town celebs to lend his vocals for their film soundtracks. His latest hit was Sultan's 'Jag Ghoomeya' (2016).

The Khans have decided to break their silence regarding the latest controversy about the couple.
A week ago, a sex tape of boxer Amir Khan was leaked online, in which he was seen Skyping with a former girlfriend and US model whom he romantically linked with in 2010 — prior to his marriage to Faryal Makhdoom.
According to The Daily Mail, Amir and his wife, Faryal Makhdoom believe that someone close to the couple leaked the tape.
In a rare appearance on TV together, Faryal said: "I feel like someone’s done it out of revenge. It's not necessarily a family member. Amir has fired a lot of people who worked from the company so it could be a worker."

The couple appeared on the show The Morning together

The British boxing star, 30, admitted that the sex tape had 'upset' him and also believes that he was betrayed by someone close to him who wanted to inflict maximum pain on him and his wife. They also insisted that the video was made before they got together when Amir was in another relationship.
Amir shared, "Something happened a long long time ago when I was younger and it was well before my marriage and my little girl'. It does upset me cause a lot of youngsters look up to me and they see me as a role model and for the video to come out, it’s sad. It’s a shadow on my charity work."
Faryal added: “All those divorce rumours and what is being said in the media is not true. [We] just want to show that our marriage is fine and we are doing quite well."
There just seems to be no break in sight for the Khans. Late last year, the Khan family was dealing with a family feud which turned ugly after Faryal posted Snapchats of the alleged mistreatment she received at the hands of her in-laws.
