Nowadays where there is less attention given to folk and sufi music. Band like Mekaal Hasan Band which is a modern band, has brought sufi music to younger audiences by their modern sufi rock fusion music. They have influenced the modern music to create fusion sound. According to a recent news their band is going to bring something which no one ever heard before in the history of music. A rehearsal recording from MHB’s sufi album planned for an early 2014 release. The news further says that these are recordings of the rehearsals for the Jashn-e-Khusrau festival where they were commissioned 10 kalams of Hazrat Amir Khusrau which they were to set to contemporary interpretations with a modern sound. Their entire album is set to a Qawali style of vocal with the modern music. The trak which they are going to release for getting the feedback of audience on it will be “Zeehaal-e-miskeen” which is written in Persian and Hindi language.
